ପଣ୍ଡିତ କୃପାସିନ୍ଧୁ ମିଶ୍ରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ “ଉତ୍କଳ ଇତିହାସ” (ଉତ୍କଳର ଇତିହାସ) ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷାରେ ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଐତିହାସିକ କୃତି। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଉତ୍କଳର ଇତିହାସ ଏବଂ ସଂସ୍କୃତିର ଏକ ବିସ୍ତୃତ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଇଛି, ଯାହା ଏହି ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ନାମ ଏବଂ ଏହା ମୁଖ୍ୟତଃ ଆଧୁନିକ ଭାରତର ଓଡ଼ିଶା ସହିତ ସମାନ।ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକକୁ ଭାରତୀୟ ଐତିହାସିକ ଅଧ୍ୟୟନରେ ଏକ ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ ଅବଦାନ ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ, ବିଶେଷକରି ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଅତୀତ, ଏହାର ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ଗତିବିଧି ଏବଂ ଜଗନ୍ନାଥ ସଂସ୍କୃତିର ଗଭୀର ପ୍ରଭାବ ସମେତ ଏହାର ଅନନ୍ୟ ସାଂସ୍କୃତିକ ପରିଚୟର ଗଭୀର ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ ପାଇଁ। ତାଙ୍କର ଅକାଳ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ସତ୍ତ୍ୱେ, ଯାହା ଏକ ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ସଂସ୍କରଣକୁ ନେଇଥିଲା, “ଉତ୍କଳ ଇତିହାସ” ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଇତିହାସଲେଖନରେ ଏକ ଐତିହାସିକ କୃତି ହୋଇ ରହିଛି।
“Utkal Itihasa” (History of Utkal) by Pandit Krupasindhu Mishra is a significant historical work written in the Odia language. The book provides a detailed account of the history and culture of Utkal, which is the ancient name for the region that largely corresponds to modern-day Odisha, India.The book is considered a valuable contribution to Indian historical studies, particularly for its in-depth exploration of Odisha’s past, its spiritual movements, and its unique cultural identity, including the profound influence of Jagannath culture. Despite his untimely death, which led to a truncated published version, “Utkal Itihasa” remains a landmark work in Odia historiography.
