“ସମୁଦ୍ରର ସ୍ୱର” (ସମୁଦ୍ରର ସ୍ୱର) ହେଉଛି ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ଭାରତୀୟ ଲେଖିକା ପ୍ରତିଭା ରାୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ସମୀକ୍ଷକ ଭାବରେ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ। ୧୯୭୭ ମସିହାରେ ପ୍ରଥମ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ଏହି କାହାଣୀଟି ସମୁଦ୍ର କୂଳରେ ଥିବା ଏକ ଗାଁରେ ରହୁଥିବା ସଦାନନ୍ଦ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ମତ୍ସ୍ୟଜୀବୀଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଉପରେ ଆଧାରିତ। ଏହି ଉପନ୍ୟାସଟି ଭାରତରେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ଉପନିବେଶବାଦ ସମୟରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ଏବଂ ଏଥିରେ ଅତ୍ୟାଚାର, ଶୋଷଣ ଏବଂ ନ୍ୟାୟ ପାଇଁ ସଂଘର୍ଷର ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରାଯାଇଛି। ସଦାନନ୍ଦ, ସରଳତା ଏବଂ ସଚ୍ଚୋଟତାର ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି, ଜଣେ ନୂତନ, ଅହଂକାରୀ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ଅଧିକାରୀ ଶ୍ରୀଯୁକ୍ତ ଫୋର୍ଡଙ୍କ ଆଗମନ ସହିତ ତାଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ଗାଁର ଜୀବନଶୈଳୀରେ ବ୍ୟାପକ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ଦେଖନ୍ତି। ଅଧିକାରୀ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଏବଂ ଗାଁର ସମ୍ବଳକୁ ଶୋଷଣ କରନ୍ତି। କାହାଣୀର କେନ୍ଦ୍ରୀୟ ଦ୍ୱନ୍ଦ୍ୱ ସେତେବେଳେ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହୁଏ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଶ୍ରୀଯୁକ୍ତ ଫୋର୍ଡ ସଦାନନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ଝିଅ ତୁଳସୀଙ୍କୁ ପସନ୍ଦ କରନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ବିବାହ ପାଇଁ ତାଙ୍କ ହାତ ମାଗନ୍ତି। ତାଙ୍କର ସନ୍ଦେହ ସତ୍ତ୍ୱେ, ସଦାନନ୍ଦ ତାଙ୍କ ଝିଅର ଖୁସି ପାଇଁ ବିବାହ କରିବାକୁ ରାଜି ହୁଅନ୍ତି, କେବଳ ତୁଳସୀ ଶ୍ରୀଯୁକ୍ତ ଫୋର୍ଡଙ୍କ ନିଷ୍ଠୁରତାର ଶିକାର ହୁଅନ୍ତି। ଏହି ଉପନ୍ୟାସଟି ତାଙ୍କ ଝିଅ ପାଇଁ ନ୍ୟାୟ ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ସଦାନନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ସଂଘର୍ଷ ଏବଂ ଏହି ଘଟଣାର ତାଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ଚାରିପାଖର ସମାଜ ଉପରେ ଗଭୀର ପ୍ରଭାବକୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କରେ। ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଏହାର ଉଦ୍ଦୀପକ ଏବଂ ସରଳ ଶୈଳୀ ପାଇଁ ଜଣାଶୁଣା, ଯାହା ସମୁଦ୍ର କୂଳରେ ଜୀବନର ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଏବଂ କଠୋରତା ଉଭୟକୁ ଜୀବନ୍ତ କରିଥାଏ।
“Samudrara Swara” (The Voice of the Sea) is a critically acclaimed Odia novel by the renowned Indian author Pratibha Ray. First published in 1977, the story revolves around the life of a fisherman named Sadananda, who lives in a village by the sea.
