Premashram

“ପ୍ରେମାଶ୍ରମ” ଗୋଲୋକ ବିହାରୀ ଧଳଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ମୌଳିକ କୃତି ନୁହେଁ, ବରଂ ସେହି ନାମରେ ଏକ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ହିନ୍ଦୀ ଉପନ୍ୟାସର ତାଙ୍କର ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅନୁବାଦ। ମୂଳ ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ହିନ୍ଦୀ ସାହିତ୍ୟର ଜଣେ ପ୍ରତୀକାତ୍ମକ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିତ୍ୱ ମୁନସି ପ୍ରେମଚାନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲେଖାଯାଇଥିଲା। ଜଣେ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷାବିତ୍, ପ୍ରାବନ୍ଧିକ ଏବଂ ସମାଲୋଚକ ଗୋଲକ ବିହାରୀ ଧଳ ପ୍ରେମଚାନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ଅନେକ କୃତିକୁ ଓଡ଼ିଆରେ ଅନୁବାଦ କରିଥିଲେ, ଯେଉଁଥିରେ “ପ୍ରେମାଶ୍ରମ” ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନ୍ୟତମ। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକକୁ ଏକ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀୟ ପୁସ୍ତକର ସଫଳ ଅନୁବାଦ ଭାବରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଅବଦାନ ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ।
“Premashram” is not an original work by Golok Bihari Dhall, but rather his Odia translation of a famous Hindi novel of the same name. The original book was written by Munshi Premchand, an iconic figure in Hindi literature. Golok Bihari Dhall, a renowned Odia linguist, essayist, and critic, translated several of Premchand’s works into Odia, with “Premashram” being one of them. The book is considered a significant contribution to Odia literature as a successful translation of a classic.
