Patadei

“ପଟାଦେଇ” ହେଉଛି ପ୍ରଖ୍ୟାତ ଲେଖିକା ବିଣାପାଣି ମହାନ୍ତିଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷାର ଏକ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ରଗଳ୍ପ ସଂଗ୍ରହ। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଭାଷାର ବୋଧଗମ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବହାର ଏବଂ ସମାଜର ଅବହେଳିତ ବର୍ଗର ଗଭୀର ବୁଝାମଣା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ। ଏହା ୧୯୯୦ ମସିହାରେ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଏକାଡେମୀ ପୁରସ୍କାର ଜିତିଥିଲା।”ପଟାଦେଇ” ଶୀର୍ଷକ କାହାଣୀଟି ଏକ ଗରିବ ଝିଅ ବିଷୟରେ, ଯିଏ ଏକ ନୃଶଂସ ଆକ୍ରମଣର ଶିକାର ହୋଇଛି। ଏହି କାହାଣୀଟି ଏହାର ସାହସିକ ଏବଂ ଦୃଢ଼ ମହିଳା ନାୟକ ପାଇଁ ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର, ଯିଏ ସମାଜ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହେବା ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତେ, ନିର୍ଭୀକ ଭାବରେ ତାଙ୍କ ଆକ୍ରମଣକାରୀଙ୍କୁ ସାମ୍ନା କରନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ପିଲାକୁ ପରିଭାଷିତ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥିବା ପୁରୁଷପ୍ରଧାନ ମାନଦଣ୍ଡକୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟାନ କରନ୍ତି। ଏହି ଏବଂ ସଂଗ୍ରହର ଅନ୍ୟ କାହାଣୀଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସାମାଜିକ, ଆର୍ଥିକ ଏବଂ ନୈତିକ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ସହିତ ସଂଘର୍ଷ କରୁଥିବା ସମାଜରେ ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କ, ବିଶେଷକରି ମହିଳାମାନଙ୍କର ପରୀକ୍ଷା, କଷ୍ଟ ଏବଂ ଦୈନନ୍ଦିନ ଜୀବନର ବାସ୍ତବବାଦୀ ଚିତ୍ରଣ ପାଇଁ ଜଣାଶୁଣା। କାହାଣୀଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସରଳ କିନ୍ତୁ ଗଭୀର ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା, ବାସ୍ତବବାଦୀ ଚରିତ୍ର ଚିତ୍ରଣ ଏବଂ ଏକ ଲେଖା ଶୈଳୀ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ଯାହା ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଭାବଶାଳୀ।
“Patadei” is a collection of short stories in the Odia language by renowned author Binapani Mohanty. The book is famous for its perceptive use of language and its deep understanding of marginalized sections of society. It won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1990.The title story, “Patadei,” is about a poor girl who is a victim of a brutal assault. The story stands out for its bold and assertive female protagonist, who, instead of being shamed by society, fearlessly confronts her attackers and rejects the patriarchal norms that seek to define her and her child. This and the other stories in the collection are known for their realistic portrayal of the trials, tribulations, and everyday lives of ordinary people, particularly women, in a society grappling with social, economic, and moral changes.
