“ମୃତ୍ୟୁରଶ୍ମି”ଯାହାର ଅର୍ଥ “ମୃତ୍ୟୁରଶ୍ମି”, ଏହା ପ୍ରଖ୍ୟାତ ଭାରତୀୟ ବୈଜ୍ଞାନିକ ଏବଂ ଲେଖକ ଗୋକୁଳାନନ୍ଦ ମହାପାତ୍ରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ବିଜ୍ଞାନ କାଳ୍ପନିକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ। ତାଙ୍କୁ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷାରେ ବିଜ୍ଞାନ କାଳ୍ପନିକର ପ୍ରବର୍ତ୍ତକ ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ।ତାଙ୍କର ଅନେକ କୃତି ପରି, “ମୃତ୍ୟୁରଶ୍ମି” ବୈଜ୍ଞାନିକ ଧାରଣାକୁ ଏକ ଆକର୍ଷଣୀୟ କାହାଣୀ ସହିତ ମିଶ୍ରଣ କରେ। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଉନ୍ନତ ପ୍ରଯୁକ୍ତିର ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଏବଂ ବିପଦ, ବିଶେଷକରି ଗଣବିନାଶର ଏକ ଅସ୍ତ୍ର, ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରେ। ଏହା ମହାପାତ୍ରଙ୍କ ଲେଖା ଶୈଳୀର ଏକ କ୍ଲାସିକ୍ ଉଦାହରଣ, ଯାହାର ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଆକର୍ଷଣୀୟ ଏବଂ କଳ୍ପନାଶୀଳ କାହାଣୀ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଜ୍ଞାନକୁ ଲୋକପ୍ରିୟ କରିବା ଥିଲା। “ମୃତ୍ୟୁରଶ୍ମି” ସମେତ ତାଙ୍କର କୃତିଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟରେ ବୈଜ୍ଞାନିକ ମନୋଭାବ ଏବଂ କଳ୍ପନାକୁ ପ୍ରୋତ୍ସାହିତ କରିବାରେ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭୂମିକା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲା।
