Kumbhara Chaka

“କୁମ୍ଭରା ଚକା” ହେଉଛି ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଜଣେ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ଏବଂ କଳା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିତ୍ୱ କବିଚନ୍ଦ୍ର କାଳିଚରଣ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମଜୀବନୀ। ୧୯୭୫ ମସିହାରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ୧୮୯୭ ରୁ ୧୯୭୫ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକଙ୍କ ଜୀବନର ଏକ ବିସ୍ତୃତ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଇଛି। କେବଳ ଏକ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ସ୍ମୃତି ନୁହେଁ, “କୁମ୍ଭରା ଚକା”କୁ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟ, ସଙ୍ଗୀତ, ନାଟକ ଏବଂ ସଂସ୍କୃତିର ଏକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଐତିହାସିକ ଦଲିଲ୍ ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ। ଓଡ଼ିଆ ନାଟ୍ୟ, ଓଡ଼ିଶୀ ସଙ୍ଗୀତ ଏବଂ ଓଡ଼ିଶୀ ନୃତ୍ୟର ବିକାଶରେ ଜଣେ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିତ୍ୱ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ ତାଙ୍କ ସମୟର ସାଂସ୍କୃତିକ ଦୃଶ୍ୟପଟ ଉପରେ ଏକ ସମୃଦ୍ଧ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିକୋଣ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି। ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଏହାର ସଚ୍ଚୋଟ ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଦୃଷ୍ଟିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଆତ୍ମ-ପ୍ରତିଫଳନ, ଏବଂ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମାକୁ କଏଦ କରିବାର କ୍ଷମତା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ। ଏହାକୁ ୧୯୭୭ ମସିହାରେ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଏକାଡେମୀ ପୁରସ୍କାରରେ ସମ୍ମାନିତ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା।
“Kumbhara Chaka” is the autobiography of Kabichandra Kalicharan Pattnayak, a prominent literary and artistic figure from Odisha. Published in 1975, the book provides a detailed account of Pattnayak’s life from 1897 to 1975.More than just a personal memoir, “Kumbhara Chaka” is considered an important historical document of Odia literature, music, drama, and culture. Pattnayak, a key figure in the development of Odia theater, Odissi music, and Odissi dance, offers a rich perspective on the cultural landscape of his time. The book is lauded for its honest and insightful self-reflection, as well as its ability to capture the spirit of the Odia people. It was honored with the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977.
