“କଥା ଘୋଡା” (କାଠ ଘଋା), ଯାହାକୁ “ଦି କାଠ ଘୋଡା” ଭାବରେ ଅନୁବାଦ କରାଯାଇଛି, ଏହା ମନୋରଞ୍ଜନ ଦାସଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନାଟକ, ଯିଏ ଜଣେ ପ୍ରଭାବଶାଳୀ ଭାରତୀୟ ନାଟ୍ୟକାର ଏବଂ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟରେ ଆଧୁନିକତାର ପ୍ରବର୍ତ୍ତକ। ନାଟକଟି ଏହାର ପରୀକ୍ଷାମୂଳକତା ପାଇଁ ଜଣାଶୁଣା ଏବଂ ଜୀବନର ଅଯୌକ୍ତିକତା, ଭ୍ରମ ଏବଂ ମାନବ ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଅନ୍ତର୍ନିହିତ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣାର ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁକୁ ସମ୍ବୋଧିତ କରେ। ଏହା ପ୍ରାୟତଃ ଏକ ଦୁଃଖଦ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିକୋଣ ଉପସ୍ଥାପନ କରେ, ଯାହା ସୂଚାଇ ଦିଏ ଯେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ଏକ ଭ୍ରମ ଏବଂ ଦୁଃଖ ଅସ୍ତିତ୍ୱର ଏକ ଅନିବାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଅଂଶ।”କଥା ଘୋଡା” ରେ, ଦାସ ଏକ ଅପାରମ୍ପରିକ ଶୈଳୀ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି, ପ୍ରାୟତଃ ଖଣ୍ଡିତ ସଂଳାପଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ବହନ କରନ୍ତି ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ଚରିତ୍ରମାନେ କେବଳ କିଛି ଶବ୍ଦ ଆଦାନପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି, ଏପରିକି ଜଟିଳ ଚିନ୍ତାଧାରା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ମଧ୍ୟ। ଏହି ଅପାରମ୍ପରିକ ପଦ୍ଧତି, ଏକ ଜଟିଳ ଜାଲରେ ଚରିତ୍ର, ସମୟ, ଭାବନା ଏବଂ ଚିନ୍ତାଧାରାର ମିଶ୍ରଣ ସହିତ, ଏକ ପ୍ରକୃତ ସ୍ୱତଃସ୍ଫୂର୍ତ୍ତ ଏବଂ ଅର୍ଥପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଜୀବନର ନିରର୍ଥକତା ବିଷୟରେ ନାଟକର କେନ୍ଦ୍ରୀୟ ଧାରଣାକୁ ଅଙ୍କିତ କରେ। “କାଠ ଘୋଡା” ନିଜେ ଜୀବନର ଅର୍ଥହୀନ, ଯାନ୍ତ୍ରିକ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟାର ଏକ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ପ୍ରତୀକ ଭାବରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରେ। ଏହି ନାଟକଟି ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅବସାଦପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନାଟକରେ ଏକ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ କୃତି ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ ଏବଂ ଏହା ଦାସଙ୍କ ଗଭୀର ସାମାଜିକ-ରାଜନୈତିକ ସଚେତନତା ଏବଂ ନାଟ୍ୟ କୌଶଳ ସହିତ ତାଙ୍କର ନିରନ୍ତର ପରୀକ୍ଷଣକୁ ପ୍ରତିଫଳିତ କରେ।
