“ଜାତି ଶ୍ରେଣିର ବିନାଶ”ହେଉଛି ଡକ୍ଟର ବି.ଆର. ଆମ୍ବେଦକରଙ୍କ ପ୍ରମୁଖ କୃତି “ଜାତି ବିଲୋପ”ର ହିନ୍ଦୀ/ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅନୁବାଦ। ଏହା କୌଣସି ଉପନ୍ୟାସ (ଉପନ୍ୟାସ) ନୁହେଁ, ବରଂ ଏକ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଭାବଶାଳୀ ପ୍ରବନ୍ଧ/ଭାଷା।
ପ୍ରାୟତଃ ୧୯୩୬ ମସିହାରେ ଇଂରାଜୀରେ ଲିଖିତ, “ଜାତି ବିଲୋପ” ଲାହୋରରେ ଏକ ହିନ୍ଦୁ ସଂସ୍କାରବାଦୀ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ, ଜାତ-ପାଟ ତୋଡ଼କ ମଣ୍ଡଳର ବାର୍ଷିକ ସମ୍ମିଳନୀ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରପତି ଭାଷଣ ଭାବରେ ଉଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ଥିଲା। ତଥାପି, ଆୟୋଜକମାନେ ଆମ୍ବେଦକରଙ୍କ ଜାତି ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା, ହିନ୍ଦୁ ଧର୍ମ ଏବଂ ବେଦ ଉପରେ ସମାଲୋଚନାକୁ ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ମୌଳିକ ବୋଲି ପାଇଲେ ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନିମନ୍ତ୍ରଣ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାହାର କରିନେଲେ। ନିରନ୍ତର ଭାବରେ, ଆମ୍ବେଦକର ନିଜେ ଭାଷଣ ପ୍ରକାଶ କଲେ।
ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଭାରତରେ ଜାତି ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ଏକ ଗଭୀର ଏବଂ ତୀକ୍ଷ୍ଣ ସମାଲୋଚନା। ଏଥିରେ, ଆମ୍ବେଦକର:
• ଯୁକ୍ତି ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଯେ ଜାତି କେବଳ ଶ୍ରମର ଏକ ବିଭାଜନ ନୁହେଁ ବରଂ ଶ୍ରମିକମାନଙ୍କର ଏକ ବିଭାଜନ, ଏକ କଠୋର ପଦାନୁକ୍ରମ ଲାଗୁ କରେ ଯାହା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ଏବଂ ସାମାଜିକ ଗତିଶୀଳତାକୁ ଦମନ କରେ।
• ଜାତି ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ମୂଳଦୁଆ ଥିବା ଧାର୍ମିକ ଧାରଣାକୁ ଚ୍ୟାଲେଞ୍ଜ କରେ, ଏହା ହିନ୍ଦୁ ଧର୍ମଗ୍ରନ୍ଥ ଏବଂ ପରମ୍ପରାରେ ଗଭୀର ଭାବରେ ସ୍ଥାପିତ ବୋଲି ଦାବି କରେ।

“ଜାତି ବିଲୋପ” ଜାତି ବିରୋଧୀ ସାହିତ୍ୟର ଏକ ମୂଳଦୁଆ ଅଟେ ଏବଂ ଏହାକୁ ଡକ୍ଟର ବି.ଆର. ଆମ୍ବେଦକରଙ୍କ ସବୁଠାରୁ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କୃତି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ, ଯାହା ଭାରତରେ ସାମାଜିକ ସଂସ୍କାର, ସମାନତା ଏବଂ ନ୍ୟାୟ ଉପରେ ଆଲୋଚନାକୁ ଆକାର ଦିଏ।
“Jati Shrenira Binasha” (जाति श्रेणिर विनाश) is the Hindi/Odia translation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s seminal work, “Annihilation of Caste.” It is not a novel (Upanyasa), but rather a powerful and influential essay/speech.
Originally written in English in 1936, “Annihilation of Caste” was intended as a presidential address for the annual conference of a Hindu reformist group in Lahore, the Jat-Pat Todak Mandal. However, the organizers found Ambedkar’s critique of the caste system, Hindu religion, and the Vedas to be too radical and withdrew their invitation. Undeterred, Ambedkar published the speech himself.
The book is a profound and incisive critique of the caste system in India. In it, Ambedkar:
• Argues that caste is not merely a division of labor but a division of laborers, imposing a rigid hierarchy that stifles individual freedom and social mobility.
• Challenges the religious notions that underpin the caste system, asserting that it is deeply ingrained in Hindu scriptures and traditions.
• Contends that the caste system destroys ethics, morality, and public spirit, hindering the development of a true community.
• Proposes radical solutions for the abolition of caste, including inter-caste marriages and the necessity of dismantling the religious foundations upon which caste is built.
“Annihilation of Caste” remains a cornerstone of anti-caste literature and is considered one of the most important works by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, shaping discourse on social reform, equality, and justice in India.
