Bhukha

ଭୁଖା ହେଉଛି ଲେଖକ ମଙ୍ଗଳୁ ଚରଣ ବିଶ୍ଵାଲଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ନାଟକ। ମୂଳତଃ ସମ୍ବଲପୁରୀ ଭାଷାରେ ଲେଖାଯାଇଥିବା ଏହି ନାଟକଟି ଭାରତରେ ଦଳିତ ଦମନ ଏବଂ ଜାତିଭିତ୍ତିକ ବୈଷମ୍ୟ ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗରେ ଏକ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ସାମାଜିକ ବ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟା।ଏହି କାହାଣୀଟି ପାଞ୍ଚ ଜଣ ବଜାନିଆ ଚରିତ୍ରଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରିତ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଦାରିଦ୍ର୍ୟ, କ୍ଷୁଧା ଏବଂ ସାଂସ୍କୃତିକ ପରାଧୀନତା ସହିତ ସଂଘର୍ଷ କରୁଥିବା ନିମ୍ନ-ଜାତି ଲୋକ କଳାକାର। ଏହା ଉପାନ୍ତ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହେଉଥିବା ଚ୍ୟାଲେଞ୍ଜର ଏକ ବାସ୍ତବବାଦୀ ଚିତ୍ରଣ ଉପସ୍ଥାପନ କରେ, ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ଏକ କଠୋର ଜାତି ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପରମ୍ପରା ଏବଂ ଜୀବନଶୈଳୀକୁ ଅବମୂଲ୍ୟାୟନ କରାଯାଏ। ଏହି ନାଟକଟି ପରେ 1989 ମସିହାରେ ସମାନ ନାମରେ ଏକ ସମୀକ୍ଷକ ଭାବରେ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ ଚଳଚ୍ଚିତ୍ରରେ ରୂପାନ୍ତରିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା।
Bhukha (The Starved) is a prominent Odia drama by author Mangalu Charan Biswal. The play, originally written in the Sambalpuri language, is a powerful social commentary on the issue of Dalit suppression and caste-based discrimination in India.The story focuses on five Bajania characters, who are low-caste folk performers struggling with poverty, hunger, and cultural subjugation. It presents a realistic depiction of the challenges faced by marginalized communities, where their tradition and way of life are devalued by a rigid caste system. The play was later adapted into a critically acclaimed film of the same name in 1989.
