“ଅରଣ୍ୟର ଅଧିକାର”ମହାଶ୍ୱେତା ଦେବୀଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଏବଂ ଐତିହାସିକ ଭିତ୍ତିକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ ଯାହା ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ଆଦିବାସୀ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ସଂଗ୍ରାମୀ ବିର୍ସା ମୁଣ୍ଡାଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଏବଂ ସଂଘର୍ଷର ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରେ।ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି 19 ଶତାବ୍ଦୀର ଶେଷ ଭାଗରେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ଉପନିବେଶବାଦୀ ଶାସନ ଏବଂ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ଝାଡ଼ଖଣ୍ଡ, ଭାରତର ଦମନକାରୀ ଜମିଦାରୀ (ଜମିଦାର) ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ଅଧୀନରେ ମୁଣ୍ଡା ଆଦିବାସୀ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହୋଇଥିବା ସାମାଜିକ-ଅର୍ଥନୈତିକ ଏବଂ ରାଜନୈତିକ ଶୋଷଣର ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରେ। ଏହା ଅନ୍ୟାୟ, ଭୂମି ଜବରଦଖଲ ଏବଂ ଜଙ୍ଗଲର ପାରମ୍ପରିକ ଅଧିକାର ହରାଇବା ଘଟଣାକୁ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଭାବରେ ଚିତ୍ରଣ କରେ ଯାହା ମୁଣ୍ଡାଙ୍କ ଜୀବନଶୈଳୀର ଅବିଚ୍ଛେଦ୍ୟ ଅଂଶ ଥିଲା।ଦେବୀ ବିର୍ସା ମୁଣ୍ଡାଙ୍କ ଯାତ୍ରାକୁ ଜୀବନ୍ତ କରନ୍ତି ଯିଏ ତାଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ଏବଂ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଶୋଷକଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ “ଉଲଗୁଲାନ” (ବିଦ୍ରୋହ) ରେ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ କରିଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ “ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ଉପରେ ଅଧିକାର” ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ତର୍ନିହିତ ମର୍ଯ୍ୟାଦା ପାଇଁ ଲଢ଼ୁଥିଲେ। ଏହି ଉପନ୍ୟାସଟି ଆଦିବାସୀ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ଜମି ଏବଂ ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ସହିତ ଥିବା ଗଭୀର ସମ୍ପର୍କକୁ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ କରିଥାଏ, ଯାହା କେବଳ ଜୀବିକା ନିର୍ବାହର ଉତ୍ସ ନୁହେଁ ବରଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସାଂସ୍କୃତିକ ପରିଚୟ ଏବଂ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ବିଶ୍ୱାସର ମଧ୍ୟ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରବିନ୍ଦୁ ଥିଲା।କେବଳ ଏକ ଐତିହାସିକ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା ନୁହେଁ, “ଅରଣ୍ୟର ଅଧିକାର” ହେଉଛି ଆଦିବାସୀ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହେଉଥିବା ପଦ୍ଧତିଗତ ଅତ୍ୟାଚାରର ଏକ ଜ୍ୱଳନ୍ତ ପ୍ରତିଫଳନ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳତାର ସାମ୍ନାରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ଥିରତା ଏବଂ ସାହସର ଏକ ପ୍ରମାଣ। ମହାଶ୍ୱେତା ଦେବୀ, ଯାହା ତାଙ୍କର ଅକ୍ଳାନ୍ତ ସକ୍ରିୟତା ଏବଂ ଅବହେଳିତଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ପ୍ରତିବଦ୍ଧତା ପାଇଁ ଜଣାଶୁଣା, ଏହି ଉପନ୍ୟାସକୁ ଉପ-ଅଲଟର୍ନକୁ ସ୍ୱର ଦେବା ଏବଂ ଭାରତୀୟ ଇତିହାସରେ ଆଦିବାସୀ ପ୍ରତିରୋଧର ପ୍ରାୟତଃ ଅଣଦେଖା କରାଯାଇଥିବା କାହାଣୀକୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି।
