Anandamatha

ଆନନ୍ଦମଠ ହେଉଛି ବଙ୍କିମ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ଚଟ୍ଟୋପାଧ୍ୟାୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଐତିହାସିକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ, ଯାହା ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ପାଇଁ ୧୮୮୨ ମସିହାରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ୧୮ଶ ଶତାବ୍ଦୀର ଶେଷ ଭାଗରେ ବଙ୍ଗଳାରେ ସନ୍ନ୍ୟାସୀ ବିଦ୍ରୋହ ସମୟରେ ଏହି ଉପନ୍ୟାସଟି ଐତିହାସିକ ଘଟଣାବଳୀ ସହିତ କାଳ୍ପନିକ ଚରିତ୍ରଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ମିଶ୍ରଣ କରିଥାଏ। ଏହା “ଶିଶୁ” ନାମରେ ପରିଚିତ ଏକ ସଂସାରୀ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର କାହାଣୀ ଅନୁସରଣ କରେ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ପୂର୍ବ ଭାରତ କମ୍ପାନୀର ଅତ୍ୟାଚାରୀ ଶାସନ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ନିଜ ଜନ୍ମଭୂମି ପାଇଁ ଲଢ଼ିବା ପାଇଁ ନିଜର ସାଂସାରିକ ଜୀବନ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରନ୍ତି। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି ଏହାର ଦେଶପ୍ରେମ ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁ ଏବଂ “ବନ୍ଦେ ମାତରମ୍” ସ୍ତୋତ୍ରକୁ ପ୍ରଚଳନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ, ଯାହା ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ସମୟରେ ଭାରତୀୟ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ଆନ୍ଦୋଳନ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ସଙ୍ଗୀତ ପାଲଟିଥିଲା।
Anandamath is a historical novel by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, first published in 1882. Set in the late 18th century during the Sannyasi Rebellion in Bengal, the novel blends historical events with fictional characters. It follows the story of a group of ascetics, known as the “Children,” who abandon their worldly lives to fight for their homeland against the tyrannical rule of the British East India Company. The book is famous for its patriotic theme and for introducing the hymn “Vande Mataram,” which later became a pivotal anthem for the Indian independence movement.
