ଡକ୍ଟର ଲକ୍ଷ୍ମୀପ୍ରିୟା ଆଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ “ଅମ୍ବା” ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷାରେ ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଐତିହାସିକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ। ଏହା ହିନ୍ଦୁ ମହାକାବ୍ୟ ମହାଭାରତର ଅମ୍ବା ଚରିତ୍ର ଉପରେ ଆଧାରିତ। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକଟି କାଶୀର ରାଜକୁମାରୀ ଅମ୍ବାଙ୍କ କାହାଣୀକୁ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରେ, ଯିଏ ଭୀଷ୍ମଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ତାଙ୍କର ଅପ୍ରତିଶୋଧିତ ପ୍ରେମ ଏବଂ ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ସମୟରେ ତାଙ୍କ ହତ୍ୟାକାରୀ ଭାବରେ ପୁନର୍ଜନ୍ମ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାର ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ। ଏହି ପୁସ୍ତକ “ଧର୍ମ ଏବଂ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକତା” ଧାରାରେ ପଡ଼େ ଏବଂ ଏହାକୁ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟରେ “ପୌରାଣିକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ” (ପୌରାଣିକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ) ଭାବରେ ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଏ।
“Amba” by Dr. Laxmipriya Acharya is a historical novel written in the Odia language. It is based on the character of Amba from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The book explores the story of Amba, the princess of Kashi, who is famously known for her unrequited love for Bhishma and her subsequent vow to be reborn as his killer. The book falls under the genre of “Religion & Spirituality” and is considered a “pauranika upanyas” (mythological novel) in Odia literature.
