Chilika

“ଚିଲିକା” ହେଉଛି କବିବର ରାଧାନାଥ ରାୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସାହିତ୍ୟର ଏକ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ଦୀର୍ଘ, ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନାତ୍ମକ କବିତା (କାବ୍ୟ)ଏହି କବିତାଟି ମୁଖ୍ୟତଃ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ବଙ୍ଗୋପସାଗର ସଂଲଗ୍ନ ଏକ ଲୁଣିଆ ଜଳ ହ୍ରଦ ଚିଲିକା ହ୍ରଦର ପ୍ରାକୃତିକ ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ଯ୍ୟର ଏକ ଉତ୍ସବ। ରାଧାନାଥ ରାୟ ଏହାର ନୀଳ ଜଳର ବିଶାଳ ବିସ୍ତାର, ଏହାର ଚାରିପାଖରେ ଥିବା ବିବିଧ ଉଦ୍ଭିଦ, ଅସଂଖ୍ୟ ମାଛ ପ୍ରଜାତି ଏବଂ ଦୂର ଦେଶରୁ ହ୍ରଦକୁ ଆସୁଥିବା ଅସଂଖ୍ୟ ପ୍ରବାସୀ ପକ୍ଷୀଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଭାବରେ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରିଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଦିନର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଋତୁ ଏବଂ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ହ୍ରଦର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନଶୀଳ ଚିତ୍ର ଆଙ୍କନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁଥିରେ ଅପରାହ୍ନ, ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ଏବଂ ଚାନ୍ଦିନୀ ରାତିର ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟଜନକ ଚିତ୍ରଣ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ। ପ୍ରକୃତି ଉପରେ ଧ୍ୟାନ ଦେବା ବ୍ୟତୀତ, “ଚିଲିକା” ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଅତୀତର ଗୌରବକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରେ, ଚିଲିକାରୁ ଦୂର ଦେଶକୁ ଜାହାଜ ଯାତ୍ରା କରୁଥିବା ସମୟକୁ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖ କରି, ବାଣିଜ୍ୟ ଏବଂ ବାଣିଜ୍ୟର ଏକ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଭାବରେ ଏହାର ଐତିହାସିକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱକୁ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ କରିଥାଏ।
“Chilika” is a renowned long, descriptive poem (Kavya) in Odia literature, written by Kabibara Radhanath Ray
The poem is primarily a celebration of the natural beauty of Chilika Lake, a brackish water lagoon adjoining the Bay of Bengal in Odisha. Radhanath Ray vividly describes the vast expanse of its blue waters, the diverse vegetation surrounding it, the myriad of fish species, and the numerous migratory birds that visit the lake from distant lands. He paints changing pictures of the lake throughout the different seasons and hours of the day, including stunning depictions of afternoons, evenings, and moonlit nights.Beyond its focus on nature, “Chilika” also touches upon the past glory of Odisha, referencing a time when ships sailed from Chilika to distant lands, highlighting its historical significance as a center of trade and commerce.
