“ପଲଟକ” (ପଳାତକ), ଯାହାର ଅର୍ଥ ଇଂରାଜୀରେ “ମରୀଚିକା”, ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଲେଖକ କାନହୁ ଚରଣ ମହାନ୍ତିଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲିଖିତ ଏକ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ କୃତି। କେତେକ ସମୟରେ ଏହାକୁ ଏକ ଉପନ୍ୟାସ ଭାବରେ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖ କରାଯାଇଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ, ଏହାକୁ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଏକ ଛୋଟ ଗଳ୍ପର ସଂଗ୍ରହ ଭାବରେ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରାଯାଏ ଯାହା ଦୈନନ୍ଦିନ ମାନବ ଜୀବନରେ ଭ୍ରମତାର ବ୍ୟାପକ ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁକୁ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରେ।ମୋହାନ୍ତି, ଜଣେ ପ୍ରଖ୍ୟାତ ଲେଖକ, ତାଙ୍କର ସାମାଜିକ ବାସ୍ତବବାଦ ଏବଂ ମାନବ ଭାବନା ଏବଂ ସାମାଜିକ ସମସ୍ୟାର ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ ପାଇଁ ଜଣାଶୁଣା, ବିଭିନ୍ନ ପ୍ରତାରଣା, ଭୁଲ ବୁଝାମଣା ଏବଂ ଅନୁଭୂତ ବାସ୍ତବତାକୁ ଖୋଳତାଡ଼ କରିବା ପାଇଁ “ମରୀଚିକା” ର ଧାରଣା ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି ଯାହା ପ୍ରାୟତଃ ଆମର ଅଭିଜ୍ଞତାକୁ ଆକାର ଦିଏ। କାହାଣୀଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସମ୍ଭବତଃ ମାନବ ମାନସିକତା ଏବଂ ଲୋକମାନେ ନିଜ ଚାରିପାଖରେ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରୁଥିବା ଭ୍ରମ ବିଷୟରେ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରନ୍ତି।
